Oklahoma State Assistant Coach and 2x NCAA Champion Chris Perry
Chris Perry is an assistant coach at Oklahoma State University During his time in the coaching ranks at Oklahoma State, Perry helped guide Daton Fix to a bronze-medal finish at 2018 Junior Worlds, oversaw a pair of national championships from 141-pounder Dean Heil in 2016 and 2017 and Alex Dieringer’s third NCAA Championship in 2016 at 165 pounds.
In 2017, Perry helped guide Heil to his title, while also seeing eight total Cowboys bring home All-America honors to tie a school record and finish third at the NCAA Championships. The 2017 season also saw eight Cowboys earn Big 12 individual titles as the Pokes en route to a team title.
In his first season, he saw Alex Dieringer earn his third NCAA individual title, Dean Heil win his first national championship and four other Cowboys earn All-America status. He had a key role in coaching seven Pokes to Big 12 titles and a team championship.
In 2013 and 2014, Perry, a native of Stillwater, Okla., won back-to-back NCAA titles at 174 pounds under the direction of John Smith.
Perry produced a dominant 122-11 career record with 59 bonus-point wins. He was a four-time Big 12 champion, the 2014 Big 12 Championship’s Outstanding Wrestler and a three-time All-American.
